24 bit sample size truncation problem

Description

When I attempt to convert Apple Lossless 24 bit files to WAV (24 bit signed integer) files using Max 0.8.1 on a MacPro? running OSX 10.5.4, the output files are TRUNCATED to 16 bits. They sound fine but I've lost resolution in the audio data files - verified using Adobe Audition's statistics on a PC.

(In [1380]) Don't automatically convert ALAC to 16-bits, but preserve the input bit depth
